The Backyard is for Preschool and Kindergarten children.
Each Sunday morning the children begin their time in their age appropriate small groups where they are greeted and introduce to the Bible story of the day by their small group leaders. The children and their small group leaders then travel to the second floor of the B building to learn about Christ in the "Tree House," a large group area where, through stories, drama and music they learn more truths from the Bible.
Then, back in their small group rooms the small group leaders connect what the kids learned in the Bible to their own personal lives through games and crafts. Finally, the kids are sent home with amazing materials that help parents know what their child has been learning that day.
We believe that parents are to be the chief spiritual influencers in their child's life. So, every week we provide materials that help parents generate spiritual conversations between them and their child(ren).
Our Backyard ministry uses the curriculum for the summer is "First Look," which seeks to help children learn that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.
