"WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS"

posted by Lori Zettler, Children's & Family Pastor

Have you heard the saying “when it rains it pours”? Well, it’s been pouring in my world. As we all know it’s literally been raining, and then it seems things just keep happening.

Last week in one of the many crazy storms we’ve been experiencing, our house was struck by lightning. Thirteen weeks ago I fell; fractured my right elbow and fractured the Right Sacral (lower back)—couldn’t walk without a cane for several weeks and was Bionic woman in a crazy arm contraption. To top it all off, my husband found out he has a bone infection. Wow! Most would say: "what’s next, God?", feel defeated, and give up. So, needless to say feeling stressed is an understatement, but this past weekend I just let it all go! I handed it over to God. I had a good cry and gave it all to Him.

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
— Psalm 94:19

Sometimes our stresses and our travesties seem to keep coming at us, but we can trust whatever may come our way and know HE WILL HANDLE IT!!  GOD’s GOT IT!  Have you laid your cares, worries, anxieties, stresses to Him? Have you allowed God to be your umbrella in the storm? Trust and know, though it may feel your life is flooding with stress and worry, God will shelter you from the storm.

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
— Romans 16:20

The release of the stress has been great. Yes, I’m still dealing with the house, my back and my husband's infection, but I will push forward and know the God of peace will soon crush Satan under my feet, and He will do the same for you.
