Meet Patsy Weinberg

If you’ve been a part of Legacy Church for any amount of time you have most likely met Patsy Weinberg. Patsy, along with her precious family, has been a cherished member of Legacy Church for the past 20 years!

Patsy loves to meet a need no matter how great or small and KidStreet is honored to have her serving in a very important role on our KidStreet Volunteer Staff. Patsy is one of the Curriculum Supply Volunteers. Patsy helps make sure our Preschool Volunteers have the supplies they need to successfully teach each Sunday. We caught a few minutes with Patsy and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her better. We know you will too!

KidStreet: How long have you been a part of the KidStreet Volunteer Staff?

Patsy: 2 years ? I can't remember when I started.  :-)

KidStreet: In what area do you currently serve?

Patsy: Curriculum Supply Volunteer. Once a month, I assist in gathering props and supplies so the teachers have everything they need when they arrive on Sunday. On Monday, I clean out the supplies and return the props to the storage room so the next volunteer can be ready to load everything for the next Sunday.

KidStreet: Have you served in other areas?

Patsy: When our daughters were young enough to be in the children's area, we rocked babies, taught classes, led small groups, taught Awanas, ran the Children in Fine Arts program, and taught VBS.

KidStreet: What is your day job?

Patsy: I'm a homemaker. I volunteer at the church and in the community and help take care of my 94-year-old mom.

KidStreet: Why did you start volunteering?

Patsy: There was a need, and this was an opportunity I could do on my schedule.

KidStreet: What is the most rewarding part of your role?

Patsy: As I'm loading the bins, I enjoy thinking about the children and teachers who'll open them on Sunday.

KidStreet: What would you tell someone on the fence about volunteering?

Patsy: Try it for a couple of months. You might discover a new passion.

KidStreet: Anything unique about yourself you would like to share?

Patsy: Mike and I have been married almost 29 years, and I am crazy about him. We have two amazing daughters, now 24 and 20. I love to cook, travel, and run agility with our Bichon Frise puppy. I'm addicted to Food Network, HGTV, and coffee. My calling is to pray for our pastors, their families, and their ministries, and I've been leading the Pastor's Intercessory Team for almost 10 years.

KidStreet: What is you favorite color?
Patsy: Red

KidStreet: What is your favorite food?

Patsy: Just about anything except beets

KidStreet: What is your favorite sports team?

Patsy: The University of Texas at Austin anything

KidStreet: What is  your favorite hobby?

Patsy: Cooking for people I love

KidStreet is so thankful for volunteers seen and, in Patsy’s case, unseen who lovingly serve month after month to help our children trust Jesus. Next time you see Patsy be sure to thank her for the powerful role she is playing in KidStreet!
