"FROM EMERGENCY TO URGENCY"
LUKE 12:35-40
KEVIN BOYD

Like a little kid daydreaming in outfield, we can find ourselves distracted by the life around us. Instead of owning our position, we're just kind of 'here'. We find in the Bible, however, that Jesus wants us to live in a constant state of readiness. Do we have an earnest expectation of Jesus' return? How should the reality of his return affect the way we think and feel right now?

WEEK 5 - OCTOBER 23, 2016
"FROM preference to Deference"
LUKE 14:7-11
KEVIN BOYD

Like a teen calling "shotgun" we have become laser-focused on ourselves and our wants and we no longer understand what it means to practice humility. On the one hand, we know life is not all about "me" but on the other we want everything to be "my way". So, how do we authentically cultivate humility in our lives? Jesus uses the parable of the wedding feast to show us how.

WEEK 6 - OCTOBER 30, 2016
"FROM DESPISED TO PRIZED"
LUKE 15:1-7
KIRK GENTZEL

Like a valuable possession in the hands of the naive, we often are found guilty of viewing those without Christ as less than or unworthy. The priority of heaven, however, is to seek and to save the lost. The parable of the lost sheep gives us a glimpse of the Father's heart for lost people and how we can join him in the search.

WEEK 7 - novemBER 6, 2016
"FROM responsibility TO responsible"
LUKE 16:1-15
Kevin boyd

Like an employee being called out for not doing his job, it's easy for us to squander the life, resources and relationships God has given us. In the parable of the shrewd manager, we learn the principle of stewardship and it's eternal impact.
