Legacy Church LOCAL Missions
Legacy encourages all members to be involved in Great Commission activities "in our own backyard." Our strategy is "community based servant evangelism" in which people engage their communities by meeting tangible needs in the name of Jesus. These acts of service become bridges of influence to help people trust Jesus. We also recognize that through the rapid globalization of our community the world is in our backyard, and we will embrace all who call our community home.
Legacy church has partnered with the following ministries and programs that line up with our desire to be salt and light servants to our community:

Legacy Church REGIONAL Missions
New Orleans
For the past 5 years, in response to the tragedy that was brought on by Hurricane Katrina, we have been participating in a mission trip to aid in the effort of rebuilding New Orleans. Through the hospitality of Celebration Church, we are able to take "missionaries" to New Orleans and give them a place to lodge safely and rest. Throughout the day, we rebuild houses, repair damaged churches, lead backyard Bible clubs, partner with Green Light, serve the Community Center of St. Bernard and aid the New Orleans Mission. In the evenings, we worship with the homeless in the New Orleans Mission and serve them dinner. This trip is composed of students (having completed 7th grade and up), families, single adults, and married adults who have a heart for helping others. Throughout this journey, each missionary is challenged to live out their faith in practical, tangible ways aw we seek to be the "hands and feet of Jesus."
Service Opportunity: Next mission trip to New Orleans is scheduled for July 15-20, 2012.
