A message from our Missions Pastor
Hello Legacy Family,
I have to admit that I am excited! The Lord has definitely been in the midst of all the work we have been doing here at Legacy with our giving, partnerships, prayers, and impact around our communities and the world. Thank you Legacy for your faithfulness in giving because it continues to give us the ability to say "yes" to what the Lord is doing around us.
Good news, our new prayer countries are out! Like I said in last month's newsletter, for us to expand our external posture we must expand our prayer posture so our hearts are in tune with what the Lord would have us do this year. As we pray for China, Iran, Mexico, and Nigeria, remember these are our adopted countries that we will pray for over the next few months. As we invest our time to pray for our partners and adopted countries, I have confidence that the Lord's sovereign hands will respond to these initiatives.
I just want to take a moment to shout-out and brag on our students! During The WKND they had the opportunity to be missional and sorted food for families in need. Thank you Legacy Students for extending the love of Christ through your hard labor. Now many families will have some needs met because of the time you took to serve them. But wait, it doesn’t stop there! We had many students invite first time guests to The WKND as well. What an awesome expression of faith in Christ to invite those you care about to worship with you!
I would also like to report we had a great Missions Action Team meeting last month. We have teams forming under the umbrella of Missions which will make us more effective to reach our community and assist our partners. So get ready Legacy family, this is going to be an impactful year for us!
Culture Wise is a new initiative of Legacy Church to create a forum for the church to engage, learn, and grow in Christlike responses to cultural contexts.
The Bible encourages Christians to "be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise," and points us towards "the wisdom from above [which] is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy." (Ephesians 5:15 & James 3:17). Our goal is to provide a safe place to ask questions and seek perspective from God's word and from each other.
On Sunday evening, February 28th, at 5pm, join us for a Culture Wise conversation on the topic of Race & Racism. Longtime Legacy Church member, and Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Ken McGill, will help lead our conversation, alongside Kevin Boyd and Patrick Iga.
On the registration form, please submit questions you'd like to hear discussed in advance, and we will do our best to cover them on Sunday evening, or in future Culture Wise resources that will be made available to the church.
Cost is $5/person and includes the book "Letters to a Birmingham Jail:
A Response to the Words and Dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."
In-person serving is minimal but we do have opportunities to serve. Belle & Sparrows and the Plano West Rotary have several new opportunities to serve now, some while staying at home (Cards for Nursing Homes, 30-Day Acts of Kindness Challenge, Homeless Care Packages).
Check out the details on our partners' current needs from our Impact Opportunities webpage.
As part of our Prayer Initiatives, we are now praying specifically for four new countries, China, Iran, Mexico, and Nigeria. We encourage you to read about each country and refer back to their prayer requests weekly, praying over a different country each week. The Learn More box under each country will open up that country's PDF file, providing the specific prayer card for each.

Letter from Jennifer Shelton, Real Options
Thank you so much for your support in 2020. Lives were saved on earth and for eternity because of you.
In 2020, 133 babies were saved from abortion and 69 individuals made a decision for Christ. During the height of the COVID-19 shutdowns, among skyrocketing fear and uncertainty (April-July 2020), we saw a 98% increase in minds changed for life. There was a 72% increase of babies saved from abortion, and an astonishing 123% leap in salvations. Only our God could bring so much light, life, and hope during a time that the world seemed so dark and fearful.
We cannot wait to see what God does in 2021, and we already see Him moving. Thank you again for your support, prayers, and contributions given during 2020.
Thanks for the Beds!
Marissa's House Projects is thankful for a very successful bed campaign. We received a Thank You from Uganda and a couple of pictures as beds have started to arrive!
