I grew up in a small town out in the Permian Basin and spent the majority of my life there. My wife, Becca, and I began dating in early 2006 and the Lord used her to get me to attend church services. Up until that point, though I professed faith in Jesus, I tried to do the Christian life by myself. Needless to say, that was not working so she helped me get involved at Odessa Bible Church, where I saw my faith in Jesus grow. By July of 2008, Becca and I were married in a ceremony at our church, surrounded by our family and friends.
After a few years of marriage, I found myself starting and leading a Young Adults Ministry on Sunday mornings and a College Ministry on Thursday evenings for our church. It was through those opportunities that I began to consider what it would look like to serve full-time in the ministry. My senior pastor (and mentor), along with the other leaders of the church affirmed my desire and gifting to be in pastoral ministry. I was brought on staff as the assistant pastor. I served in that role for several years while attending seminary online.
In early 2015, Becca and I moved to this area so I could continue my seminary education on campus at Dallas Theological Seminary; I completed my Masters Degree in 2019. Becca and I first became acquainted with Legacy Church on March 15, 2015 and have been here ever since. We love this church and have served in several capacities. What started out as a role as the maintenance man has led me to being the Discipleship Pastor at Legacy because of God's provision and grace. It is my hope and goal that those that make up Legacy are encouraged and equipped to live the life that Jesus has called us to, seeking to be His ever-growing student.
