One thing Paul does in 1 Timothy 6 is he attacks the greed that seduces people. He knows materialism has a way of seeping into our minds & telling us the more we make, the more we need in order to live a decent life... And so he gives a pattern for not falling into that temptation.

Paul gives 4 commands to prevent wealth from becoming what you worship. He says to FLEE, FOLLOW, FIGHT, & FASTEN ONTO.
