Darien Clark

Resident Missionary

Hi, I’m Darien. First and foremost, I’m a son of God, learning each day to walk in His grace and to live out the calling He’s placed on my life. I’m also a husband to my amazing wife, Brooke, and together we’re raising two beautiful daughters, Sutton and Sadie. They keep our lives filled with laughter, wonder and more energy than we sometimes think we have - but they are also constant reminders of God’s goodness and faithfulness to our family. I’m a born and raised Texan and we have been residents of Plano since 2016.

At my core, I’m a disciple and a friend. I believe we are our best selves when we’re serving others, and I try to live that out whether I’m spending time with my family, mentoring high school guys, coaching my daughter’s soccer team or experiencing good coffee with a friend who just needs to talk.

I serve as a Resident Missionary at Legacy Church, where I help lead outreach efforts designed to open our doors wide to the community - things like blood drives, prayer nights, sports ministry and creating spaces where people can feel welcomed, loved and ultimately pointed to Jesus. Outside of Legacy, I also serve with East-West Ministries as a digital strategist and storyteller. My support-raised role allows me to help spread the gospel in some of the spiritually darkest places of the world, using creative media to tell stories that mobilize believers, inspire generosity and highlight the incredible ways God is at work amidst the 3 billion people separated form Him.

My heart beats for people to know, love and follow Jesus - whether that’s across the street here in Plano or across the world where access to Him is nearly nonexistent. I often return to 1 Peter 2:9, which reminds us that we are “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that we may declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light.” That truth fuels me daily, reminding me of who I am in Christ and why I do what I do.

More than anything, I want my life to reflect Jesus. I want to be a man who is faithful - to my Lord, to my wife and kids, to my friends, to the mission He has entrusted me with. Everything else flows out of that. Everything else being sweet tea, basketball, Blue Bell ice cream, the outdoors, and an order of chips and salsa with a side of tacos.
