Community: God’s Gift in Every Season

March 11, 2025 1:59 PM

From the very beginning, God designed us for community. He never intended for us to walk through life alone—through the celebrations or the struggles. Over and over in Scripture, we see God provide people to come alongside His children, offering encouragement, strength, and truth in every season.

When Naomi lost everything—her husband, her sons, her home—God gave her Ruth. A faithful companion who refused to let her walk through grief alone.

“Where you go, I will go… Your people will be my people, and your God my God.” (Ruth 1:16)

When Mary received life-changing news—an angel’s proclamation that she would carry the Son of God—she went to Elizabeth. And what did Elizabeth do? She rejoiced with her. She reminded Mary of God’s faithfulness. She spoke life over her. “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.” (Luke 1:45)

When Moses felt inadequate to speak before Pharaoh, God sent Aaron.

When David faced hardship, God gave him Jonathan—a friend who strengthened him in the Lord.

When Paul spread the gospel, he never did it alone. He traveled with Barnabas, Silas, Timothy, Priscilla, and Aquila—partners in faith who encouraged and equipped him.

Even Jesus Himself, fully God yet fully human, surrounded Himself with people. He could have done His ministry alone, yet He walked with the disciples, shared meals with friends, and invited others into His moments of joy and sorrow.

Community is a gift.

It is a tangible way God reminds us that we are seen, known, and deeply loved. He places people in our lives to walk with us through every season—the hard ones, the joyful ones, the uncertain ones.

So, if you feel weary, uncertain, or isolated in this season, remember this: God has never called you to walk alone.

There is a place for you.

At Seasons, our upcoming women’s conference, we are gathering together to remember this truth: God is always at work, and He often works through the people He places in our lives. Whether you need encouragement, fresh perspective, or just a space to connect, we invite you to come and experience the power of community.

Because no matter where you are in your journey—there’s a Ruth, an Elizabeth, or a Jonathan waiting to walk alongside you.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
