Celebrating Life: How Legacy Partners with Real Options Pregnancy Clinic

Faces lit up and tears streamed down as women opened tiny gifts—a newborn onesie here, a soft blanket there. Each present symbolized a courageous choice: to choose life despite fear, uncertainty, or crisis.
For more than 35 years, Real Options has carried out its mission to “glorify God by valuing life, sharing truth, and restoring hope.” As the first crisis pregnancy center in Texas to offer medical services such as sonograms, Real Options now provides counseling, education, advocacy, and post-abortion care to help women and families experience healing and hope.
Baby Showers That Speak Life
Over the summer, Legacy partnered with another local church to host baby showers for ten families preparing to welcome their little ones.
Many church members helped by purchasing gifts from baby registries, while others, like Sarah Taylor, showed up in person to celebrate and pray with the moms. For Sarah, this opportunity was deeply personal.
“When my mom found out she was pregnant, the first choice she was given wasn’t one of life,” Sarah shared. “But she chose life and was surrounded by people who supported her.”
That legacy inspired Sarah to serve and celebrate mothers who made the same brave decision. “I wanted them to catch a glimpse of what it could look like to have a grown daughter one day,” she said.
Sarah described the baby showers as sacred spaces filled with grace and joy. “Being there wasn’t about throwing the perfect party or knowing what to say,” she said. “It was about showing up, listening without judgment, and letting conversations about Christ and the church flow naturally.”
Her encouragement to others is simple: “You don’t have to have all the answers to participate. Anyone can do this by letting God work through you. Celebrating life entering the world is easy once you’re in the room. The joy is already there—you just get to join in. And if you can’t attend, even buying something from the registry is a huge gift.”
Ministry That Lasts Beyond the Moment
The work of Real Options continues long after each baby shower ends. Week after week, staff and volunteers provide medical care, counseling, and spiritual support to women and families navigating unplanned pregnancies.
Jill Bell, a nurse and Legacy member, has volunteered with Real Options for over three years. She provides free medical care and sonograms, often witnessing the life-changing moment when a mother sees or hears her baby’s heartbeat for the first time.
“I see God working through Real Options every time I serve,” Jill said. “He blesses the clients who walk through our doors and blesses me as well. One of my favorite things is how Real Options continues to care for clients long after their first visit. I love being there when they see their tiny baby for the first time and later celebrating with them at their baby showers.”
She continued, “It’s a gift to pray for and encourage them as they bring a new life into the world. Each baby is a miracle, and I love walking beside moms and dads through such a special time—especially those who feel hopeless or afraid.”
How Legacy Partners with Real Options
Each year, part of Legacy Church’s annual budget supports our mission partners, including Real Options. Through your generous giving, Legacy has contributed more than $85,000 over the years to this life-affirming ministry.
“I would also encourage Legacy Church to partner with Real Options in prayer,” Jill added. “Pray for the lives of the parents and babies, that they would feel supported through this huge life transition and come to know Jesus personally. Prayer is a vital way to support the ministry.”
Take Your Next Step
Whether through prayer, gifts, or presence, every act of partnership helps Real Options continue its mission of hope and healing for women and families in crisis.
