Kevin Boyd

I’ve had the honor of serving as Legacy’s Lead Pastor since 2013. Long before we moved to this area, Legacy Church was already known for its warmth, kindness, single-minded love for Jesus, and joyful commitment to God’s mission. That legacy drew us in. This church has a rich history of community involvement and genuinely valuing people—and today, we’re pulsing with growth and new life! 

My wife, Lindsey, and I met in our home church while growing up in DeSoto, and we went college together at HSU in Abilene. We married in 2003 and now have four daughters: Elizabeth (’09), Claire (’11), Jessa (’15), and Kate (’19). I love spending time with my kids—chasing them around their band concerts, basketball games, soccer games, track meets, and drawing, painting, and learning alongside them as they explore life with creativity and curiosity. 

When I’m not with the church or with my family, I’m probably watching a movie. I love great storytelling and find so much joy, laughter, and inspiration in films—from timeless classics and quirky indies to everything in between. I’m also a big NBA fan (go Mavs!) and a lifelong appreciator of a good cheeseburger.  

For more than 20 years, I’ve had the joy of growing and serving in local churches, and Legacy has been such a special place to plant roots and lead alongside an amazing team. Our staff and leaders reflect the grace and truth of Jesus in countless ways, helping people discover their identity in Jesus and their place in His mission to impact the world through the gospel. My hope is that Legacy will continue to be a church that’s truly alive with the gospel—shining brightly in this community for years to come.
