Behind the Scenes: The Legacy Worship Collective Tech Team

If you’ve ever attended a Sunday service or streamed a sermon online, you’ve experienced the work of a team you may never see. Hours before the first note is sung and long after the final prayer, the Legacy Worship Collective Tech Team shows up early, stays engaged, and helps create an environment where worship can happen without distraction.

Olivia Weinberg, who serves on the team, explains their intended purpose in this way: “Our goal is to make sure the technology we use facilitates the connection between our congregation and the Holy Spirit, rather than being a distraction.” 

This behind-the-scenes team provides great value to our church. When asked why she serves on the team, Olivia explained, “The primary reason I serve is that Jesus told us to serve. I specifically serve in tech for several reasons. First, it is a way that I can participate in spreading the gospel and making disciples. Second, I am able to use the specific talents God gifted me with for His purpose and glory. Third, I like serving behind the scenes as it allows me to set aside my own ego and pride to make my service about God rather than about me.” 

Serve on the Tech Team

Many people think they don't have enough experience to serve on the tech team, but that is simply not the case. We have team members that will train you and be there if and when you need help until you're comfortable with your role. Although it may feel daunting to jump into something unfamiliar or to mix up your normal Sunday routine, it is a true joy when we have an opportunity to meet needs within the church, serving the body of Christ and building up something bigger than ourselves. 

VIDEO OPERATOR NEEDED
At present, the team has an immediate need for additional volunteers in the video position. If you can work a joystick controller, you can volunteer with video - no experience required. 

“My favorite part about serving in the Worship Collective is getting to serve alongside such incredible people,” Olivia added. “I see the way they live for God and hear the truth set upon their hearts. I see the way they care for our church and hear how every decision about what is said is purposefully made to praise God. I also get to know our pastors better as they share some of the development behind their sermons with us. This is an incredible group of people to work with, and seeing how they pursue God inspires me to be a better follower of Christ myself.”
