New Preteen Ministry Launching This Fall
This fall, we are excited to launch a brand-new Preteen Ministry for 5th and 6th graders.
We believe every age and stage matters. From our youngest children to our graduating seniors, our heart is to partner with parents as they help their children discover their identity in Jesus and find their place in His mission.
The preteen years are a unique and important season. Students are growing quickly, asking deeper questions, developing stronger friendships, and beginning to take greater ownership of their faith. They are no longer little kids, but they are not quite teenagers either. This in-between stage brings both opportunity and responsibility, and we want to shepherd it with care.
Our goal is to create an intentional ministry environment where 5th and 6th graders are known, loved, challenged, and encouraged as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Why Preteen Ministry?
Over the past year, God has been stirring our hearts as a NextGen team to think about how we disciple every age and stage at Legacy.
As we have developed our NextGen Pathway, we recognized a meaningful opportunity to better serve students during the preteen years by creating a ministry designed specifically with them in mind.
Preteens are beginning to move from simply learning Bible stories to asking bigger questions about faith, identity, friendship, obedience, and what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. We want to meet them in that important season with teaching, relationships, and environments that help them build a strong biblical foundation.
What We’re Praying For
Our prayer is that Legacy Preteen Ministry will help 5th and 6th graders:
Grow in Faith
We want students to know God’s Word, understand the gospel, and begin taking ownership of their relationship with Jesus.
Build meaningful friendships
We want preteens to experience the joy of Christian community with peers and leaders who know them, encourage them, and point them to Christ.
Develop a strong foundation
We want to help students grow in biblical truth, spiritual habits, and confidence as they prepare for the next step into Legacy Students.
Partnering With Parents
We know discipleship begins at home, and we are deeply grateful for the ways parents invest in their children every day. Our role as a church is not to replace that important calling, but to come alongside you in it.
This new ministry is one more way we want to partner with families during a formative season of growth and transition.
We are grateful for the parents who joined us for our recent Preteen Parent Meeting, and we are thankful for the thoughtful questions, encouragement, and partnership already surrounding this new ministry.

Please join us in praying for our preteens, their parents, and the leaders who will help shepherd this ministry. We are expectant and grateful as we take this next step together.
